Prices are only the first decision. The actual loop is terminal access, physical loading, shared inventory, detection risk and a working exit.
PLAYBOOK 01 · First cargo run · lowest risk
Waste
Seraphim Station → Everus Harbor
Capital~200 aUEC per SCU · about 19,000 aUEC fills 96 SCUShipAnything with a cargo grid — this is the run you learn onLive prices for Waste →
Waste is the cheapest useful cargo in Stanton and the best possible first trade run. Both ends are orbital stations, so there is no atmospheric landing, no outpost approach and no terminal you have to walk across open ground to reach. Reported stock runs into the tens of thousands of SCU, so you are not competing for a scarce box. The margin per SCU is small in absolute terms but the percentage return is among the highest in the system, which is exactly the right shape when your whole bankroll is small enough to lose.
01
Start at Seraphim
Seraphim Station orbits Crusader and has a commodity terminal, refuelling and repair. Dock, check the Waste buy price on the terminal itself, and note how much your hold can physically take.
02
Buy to your hold, not your wallet
Fill the cargo grid rather than spending every credit. With stock this deep the limit is your ship, not the terminal. Leave enough aUEC to reclaim the ship if the run goes wrong.
03
Fly station to station
Everus Harbor orbits Hurston. This is a straight quantum hop with no planetary descent — the single safest cargo leg in Stanton. Stay on the standard approach and request docking normally.
04
Sell the whole load
Everus demand for Waste is deep enough to absorb a full small-to-medium freighter. Sell, then check whether the return leg has anything worth carrying rather than flying back empty.
05
Repeat and scale
Run it until you can afford a bigger hold, then re-run the same loop with more SCU. Do not jump straight to a high-value commodity because the percentage looked better — learn loading and docking on cargo you can afford to lose.
What to look for
□ The live buy price before committing — Waste is cheap but not fixed.
□ Whether your ship physically fits the 32 SCU containers the terminal offers.
□ Return-leg cargo so the trip back is not dead time.
□ Your remaining balance staying above a ship claim.
When it fails
Margin looks too small to bother
Judge it by ROI, not by aUEC per SCU. Doubling a small bankroll twice beats one failed high-value run.
Cargo will not load
Check the container size against your grid. A large container cannot be broken down at the terminal.
Everus price dropped
Other players sell here too. Check the live page before you undock; the sell side moves.
This is the opposite shape to a jackpot box. The percentage return is modest, but reported demand at Terra Mills HydroFarm runs to roughly 12,000 SCU and the commodity is sold at almost every major Stanton hub — Area18, Lorville, Port Tressler, Baijini Point, Seraphim and the Pyro Gateway all list it. That combination is rare: you can top up wherever you happen to be, and the buyer will not saturate after one delivery. It is the closest thing in 4.9 to a repeatable industrial freight contract, and it rewards a big hold rather than a fast one.
01
Pick the closest source
Because the commodity is stocked at most Stanton hubs, the right origin is whichever one you are already near. Compare the live buy price between two nearby hubs before committing — they are not identical.
02
Load to capacity
The economics here are volume, not spread. A half-empty freighter turns a workable run into a waste of fuel. Confirm every container is attached to the grid before undocking.
03
Route to Hurston
Terra Mills HydroFarm sits on Hurston. Plan a planetary descent with a loaded freighter: heavier ship, slower response, longer stopping distance. Give yourself altitude and time.
04
Check demand before unloading
Deep demand is not infinite demand. Confirm the terminal will take the full load, and sell in batches if the price steps down as you deliver.
05
Decide on the return leg
An empty freighter flying back is the biggest cost in this loop. Check what Hurston-side terminals are buying before you leave the pad.
What to look for
□ Buy-price differences between neighbouring Stanton hubs.
□ Whether demand at Terra Mills has already been partly filled by other players.
□ A landing pad that can take your hull size before you commit to descent.
□ Fuel state — a loaded freighter burns more on a planetary approach.
When it fails
Margin evaporated mid-run
Low-percentage bulk routes are the first to flip when several players run them. Check the live page before undocking, not before logging in.
Cannot land the freighter
Terra Mills is a surface facility. Verify pad size in advance rather than discovering it fully loaded.
Demand filled before you arrived
Hold the cargo rather than dumping it. This commodity sells at many terminals; find the next buyer instead of taking a loss.
PLAYBOOK 03 · High-value Pyro mineral run
Bexalite
Bueno Ravine → Sacren’s Plot
Capital~23,500 aUEC per SCU · about 752,000 aUEC for 32 SCUShipMedium freighter you are willing to lose in PyroLive prices for Bexalite →
Bexalite is a legal, high-value mineral, and the current 4.9 data puts both ends of the best run inside Pyro — Bueno Ravine to Sacren’s Plot, with several hundred SCU reported at the buy end. Staying in-system means no jump point and no gateway queue, which is the good news. The bad news is that everything in Pyro is unmonitored: there is no security response, no reliable repair on the route, and the outposts are small enough that a single hostile ship on the pad ends the run. Treat the profit per SCU as compensation for that, not as free money.
01
Base out of Pyro, not Stanton
Refuel, rearm and repair before you start. Flying in from Stanton with a loaded hold to begin the run wastes the safest part of the trip and doubles your exposure.
02
Scout Bueno Ravine first
Approach empty. Check for parked ships, ships holding dark, and players near the terminal or freight elevator before you commit a cargo hull to the pad.
03
Buy in a size you can carry out fast
The margin tempts a full load. A partial load you can lift immediately is worth more than a full one that keeps you on the ground for another five minutes.
04
Verify the grid before lifting
Confirm every container is attached and the ramp is closed. Boxes left loose or a ramp left open is how a completed purchase turns into a total loss.
05
Run to Sacren’s Plot
Both ends are in Pyro, so this is a short hop — but a short hop with no security. Vary your approach, do not fly the obvious straight line, and have a fallback destination picked before you launch.
06
Sell and leave immediately
Do not linger to count credits on the pad. Complete the sale, lift, and do your accounting in quantum.
What to look for
□ Ships parked off the normal landing line at either outpost.
□ Current reported stock at Bueno Ravine before you fly out.
□ Whether Sacren’s Plot demand can absorb your whole load.
□ Your own fuel and hull state — there is no convenient repair on this route.
□ An alternative Pyro buyer in case the primary one is camped.
When it fails
Hostiles on the pad at arrival
Do not land to "check". Break off, orbit, and come back or switch to the alternate buyer. The cargo is worth less than the ship plus the cargo.
Stock lower than reported
Community reports lag. Buy what is actually there rather than waiting on the pad for a refill that may not come.
Demand at Sacren’s Plot already filled
Hold the load and check the other Pyro buyers. Dymantium and Bexalite share several destinations in current data.
Ship damaged mid-run
Pyro repair is unreliable. Finish the sale if you can still fly; do not detour deeper into the system looking for a repair pad.
PLAYBOOK 04 · Illegal cross-system run
E’tam
Ashland → Stanton salvage yards
Capital~16,300 aUEC per SCU · about 521,000 aUEC for 32 SCUShipFast hull you can afford to lose, with a clean exit planLive prices for E’tam →
E’tam is an illegal drug bought at Ashland on Ignis in Pyro and sold into Stanton’s salvage yards — Brio’s Breaker Yard, Samson & Son’s, Reclamation & Disposal Orinth and Devlin all appear as buyers in current data. It is one of the largest per-SCU margins in 4.9 with genuinely deep stock behind it, and it is also the run with the most ways to lose everything: an illegal cargo, a jump-point crossing, and a destination inside monitored Stanton space. Every stage below exists because of a specific way this run ends badly.
01
Accept the legal consequence first
This is contraband. Carrying it through Stanton space risks scans and a CrimeStat. Decide before you buy that you are willing to take that, and know your CrimeStat clearing route.
02
Stage in Pyro
Refuel and repair before approaching Ignis. Ashland is an unmonitored Headhunters location and is a known trading point, which means other players know about it too.
03
Scout Ashland before landing
Check the pad, the freight elevator and the surrounding airspace on a low pass or with a party member. Ashland features on both sides of the 4.9 trade map, so traffic is normal — hostile traffic is also normal.
04
Buy and load without lingering
Confirm container sizes fit your hold, load, verify the grid, close up. Time on the ground at a known contraband terminal is the single largest risk in the run.
05
Cross to Stanton deliberately
Route through the Pyro–Stanton jump point with fuel margin. Do not follow a predictable straight line out of the gateway — that stretch is watched precisely because loaded ships come through it.
06
Pick the salvage yard by current price, not habit
Four yards buy E’tam in current data and their prices differ. Check the live page and choose before you cross, so you are not browsing terminals with contraband aboard.
07
Sell and clear
Complete the sale and leave Stanton space or land legitimately. Do not fly around with the proceeds and a CrimeStat looking for something else to do.
What to look for
□ Security presence on the Stanton side of the jump point.
□ Which of the four salvage yards is paying most right now.
□ Whether your chosen yard has a freight elevator — Brio’s and Devlin differ from the others in current data.
□ Reported stock at Ashland before you fly out.
□ Your own CrimeStat status before you enter monitored space.
When it fails
Scanned in Stanton with cargo aboard
Expect this to be possible on every run. Know in advance which yard you are heading for and take the shortest exposure, rather than improvising a route while loaded.
Ashland is camped
Fallow Field also sells E’tam in current data at a higher buy price. A worse margin on a completed run beats a perfect margin on a lost ship.
Yard will not take the full load
Split across yards — several are clustered in the same area. Do not dump contraband outside a terminal.
CrimeStat picked up mid-run
Finish or abort deliberately. Flying a loaded illegal cargo while wanted compounds two problems that are each survivable alone.
PLAYBOOK 05 · High-volume Pyro run
Elespo
Chawla's Beach → Ashland
Capital6,000 aUEC per SCU · 192,000 aUEC for 32 SCUShipFast cargo ship; scale only after scouting AshlandLive prices for Elespo →
Elespo is a large-volume 4.9 commodity rather than a tiny jackpot box. Current community data reports roughly 600 SCU at Chawla’s Beach and a changing Ashland demand. The paper margin is attractive, but the exposed terminal and shared demand make a fully loaded slow freighter a much larger gamble than the calculator suggests.
01
Stage in Pyro
Refuel and repair before approaching Pyro IV. Keep claim and recovery money outside the cargo investment, and set a fallback station before buying.
02
Scout Chawla's Beach
Ping the area, check for parked interdiction or combat ships and inspect the commodity terminal before calling a large cargo ship. Buy Elespo only after confirming the price and a box size your hold can physically accept.
03
Load and verify
Move the boxes onto the cargo grid, confirm attachment and compare the loaded SCU against the terminal transaction. Leave ramps, lifts and escape paths clear.
04
Recon Ashland
Ashland on Ignis is an unmonitored Headhunters location and a predictable sell point. Use a scout, party member or low pass to check the pad, freight elevator and nearby contacts before descending.
05
Sell in controlled batches
Check current demand and price before moving the whole load. If demand is below your cargo, sell what the terminal accepts and decide whether waiting in place is worth the ambush risk.
What to look for
□ The latest reported demand at Ashland, not only the maximum.
□ Ships parked dark or off the normal landing line.
□ Players holding the freight elevator or terminal building.
□ A sell-price drop caused by recent deliveries.
When it fails
No Elespo shown
Confirm the correct commodity terminal and allow the shared economy report to update; do not wait outside in the loaded ship.
Ashland demand is low
Hold away from the outpost, sell a smaller batch or switch activity. There is no safe guaranteed reservation.
Contacts appear during unloading
Stop moving boxes, close the ship if possible and execute the pre-planned departure. Cargo is replaceable; the full ship and crew are not.
PLAYBOOK 06 · Illegal micro-cargo jackpot
Osoian Hides
Golden Riviera → Devlin Scrap & Salvage
Capital1,134,000 aUEC for one 4-SCU boxShipSmall, fast and discreet ship that physically fits a 4-SCU containerLive prices for Osoian Hides →
Osoian Hides trade cargo capacity for scarcity. Current 4.9 reports place the buy terminal at The Golden Riviera on Bloom and the only tracked buyer at Devlin on Euterpe. A 4-SCU box currently costs about 1.134M and sells for about 3.48M, but stock is shared, illegal and painfully slow to refill. This is a timed opportunity, not an activity to idle at for an entire session.
01
Confirm the purchase window
Check the latest community stock report before flying to Bloom. The terminal can show less than one purchasable 4-SCU container; visible fractional stock is not the same as an available box.
02
Synchronize the refill estimate
When you personally observe a stock increase, press “I saw a refill now” on the route card. The timer then estimates the next +1 SCU interval. Another player can buy the stock before the timer reaches zero.
03
Secure Golden Riviera
Treat the area as hostile. Inspect the freight elevator and terminal building on foot only after checking ships and local traffic. Never leave the ship open while waiting for global stock.
04
Load the 4-SCU container
Confirm that the chosen ship door, lift and grid can take the physical box. Smaller nominal cargo capacity is irrelevant if the container cannot enter or attach.
05
Cross to Stanton
Route through the Pyro–Stanton jump point with enough fuel and a fallback. Avoid announcing the cargo or following a predictable straight line from the gateway.
06
Sell at Devlin
Devlin Scrap & Salvage is on Euterpe and has no standard freight elevator in current route data. Verify the live unloading/terminal interaction with one box before attempting a larger off-grid load.
What to look for
□ At least 4 SCU available before attempting purchase.
□ The 4-SCU container option in the live terminal.
□ Players camping the shared stock or warehouse.
□ Law/security consequences from carrying an illegal commodity.
□ A working sell interaction at Devlin before unloading everything.
When it fails
Terminal shows stock but purchase fails
The shown amount may be below the 4-SCU container requirement or already purchased by another player. Refresh once, then leave rather than exposing the ship.
Timer reaches zero without stock
The six-hour interval is a community estimate and global demand can consume the increment instantly. Re-sync only after a stock change you actually observe.
Devlin will not accept the box
Keep it secured, confirm the correct terminal and interaction, and do not dump the container outside. Patch or demand state may have changed.
You cannot fit the box
Do not rely on total SCU alone. Test the doorway, lift and grid geometry with a cheap 4-SCU box before investing.
Prices quoted in each briefing are the reference values from our last UEX sync and will drift. Open the live commodity page before you commit capital — the operational guidance stays valid, the numbers do not.
